Hi, I’m Angela McEwen-Walford from Nerepis, a small community within the Town of Grand Bay-Westfield.

I retired 2 years ago after a 30 year career with Irving Oil and have been enjoying my time off. I enjoy gardening, both vegetable and flowers, quilting, baking and wood laser engraving. We have a 1 year old grandson in Alberta and we’re heading out to visit them soon.
My husband also volunteers for Urban Rural Rides and he kept suggesting that I should volunteer as well, as there was a need for a dialysis client in our area to be picked up at 5:00 on Wednesdays. Being a home body and not having done anything like this in the past, I hummed and hawed about it and procrastinated until I finally got my ducks in order and applied earlier this year. And I’m glad I did . Whether it’s clients that I drive weekly, occasionally or one time, I try to make their experience pleasant and enjoyable. We have great chats, conversations and laughs and I’ve come to know more about them and their families. The clients are friendly and genuinely thankful and appreciate the service we offer. I’m thankful that I’m able to offer my time and services and support our community.
