Why Volunteer?
There are many reasons to give back, through being a volunteer. My main reason came out of a Scout leader who encouraged me to serve others. Over time, however, my reason got buried under other responsibilities and reasons.
Then after my car accident, I needed others more than I could ever have imagined. The therapies, the long drives in and out of town were grueling. My Scout leaders words came back to me, reigniting my willingness to serve.
So, for around five years, off and on, I’ve given back through Rural Rides. Having a great empathy for the many people I am blessed to serve, as I continue to bring legacy to my Scout leader through Rural Rides.
Blessings,
Rev. C. Anthony Holmes
