Hi!  My name is Louise Tingley and I live in Riverview.  On Halloween day 2023 – I will be commencing my 7th year of retirement after 37 years in commercial banking.  Immediately after my retirement, I began volunteering for the schools breakfast program for a couple of years.  Not working any longer provided me more time to spent with my mother who was in a nursing home.  After her passing in 2020, I knew that I wanted to volunteer more time to my community but especially for seniors in need.  Hence my reason for joining this wonderful orgazaniton as a volunteer driver in November 2020.

I have met wonderful people during these drives which I know provides them a much needed service.  They are always grateful for my time driving them to their appointments and they always make me feel very appreciated.   Some I have driven many times; therefore, provide a friendly, known person to them during their not so great day (sometimes) when they are going for appointments.  While our service provides them with a much cheaper alternative for transportation, they do appreciate knowing the person who is driving them with whom they have a rapport.   I get to know them and they get to know me as well as we have great conversations during our commutes. Volunteering is such a rewarding feeling.

My husband and I have been married for 30 yrs.  I have 2 step daughters who live on their own now but we also have 2 very spoiled cats that live with us.

Louise.
